Interview: The Not So Hidden Agenda with Stephanie Heck
https://nwlocalpaper.com/radio-free-fallsers
In this episode of "The (Not So) Hidden Agenda," host Stephanie Heck talks to author David Jackson Ambrose about his engaging newly-published first novel, "State of the Nation." David describes not only the structure of his book, which he describes as "an African American neo-horror story," but also the critical importance of the social context of the book, which takes place in the early 1980's during the Atlanta Child Murders (creating a theme of eeriness about the unexamined disappearances of young black bodies that "looms over the story"). David also discusses his lifelong love of story-creating, and tells us about his journey from writing comics as a child to writing his first novel. Take some time to listen to this powerful interview!
